Is Anything Forever?

What a roller coaster couple of days!  I can't go into too much detail as I want to protect those involved but lets say I've had some shocking news, can't believe the outcome and hopes to god it sorts itself out!

It's never good when something you believe so much in appears to fall apart, but it does make you question how long is forever in this day and age?  To me I'm used to it and not surprised because I've learnt very early on that things are never as solid as they seem, but for others it's hard to come to this realisation now.

All you can ever wish for is happiness, contentment and peace, with those three things you'll be as rich as any king, as proud as any professor and by golly you'll live a fruitful life.

Tonight there's been lots and lots of chat and one of things which made me think is how people are always aspiring to have more, be more, do more.  In the old days people were happy with their lot, thankful for what they had and accepted who they were.  Whilst a bit of ambition is good it should never take you away from who you are, nor jeopardise what you've already built.

No-one can make your choices for you so make sure you live your life making the right ones, as they're hard to turn back on!

I've not had the opportunity to prepare the flyers and posters, nor ring round and chase the companies who have not responded to my letters (which I paid for the stamps myself!).  But there's always tomorrow as I don't think I'll be seeing Joseph, Kicking a can.

Kind and Generous

Today is the first day of the rest of my life!   Ok well not quite but I am going to go on a 5-day detox starting tomorrow because I feel like shit!  It's not another fad, or something out the blue, I've been thinking about for a while but haven't decided on the right one.

Having had lots of time to think about it when in London today, (I like my little train journeys now and then, iPod in and getting lost in a trashy magazine whilst sipping on a half bottle of Chardonnay), I popped into Boots and picked up my 5 day packet of gross detoxing liquid, detox pills (probably to make you shit green stuff) and a bottle of Pomegranate juice which I need to take 20mls of x3 a day!

This evening I intend to run myself a bath, pop in my Lush Karma bath bubble bar, soak away my aches and pains then get into my lavender sprayed bed and fall asleep for a thousand years..... or until the alarm goes off at 7:20am and I snooze it for 45 minutes!

Oooo but excitingly as well I'm going to pick up the first donated prize on my way home tonight, courtesy of CoCo Hair and Skincare in Maidenbower, Crawley!  They're kindly donating a £30 gift voucher to their salon.

The fundraiser is coming together nicely and I'm looking forward to it more as each day ticks down.  Still no word from the Mayor's office but then she might be a bit busy right now as apparently someone threw themselves off of the top of the town hall :/

EEEEEEEEEK!

What a day!  It's been a long old slog at work because I took a super early lunch to head into Crawley so I could check out the venue for the fundraiser, and it's perfect!

Also, a new girl band called Stonefoxx might be appearing, along with the Crawley Mayor and hopefully another band My Federation!

I know I'd kind of gone off the idea of a band and was going down the DJ route but this is awesome, it's just kind of all come together nicely.  Not to count my chickens before they've hatched though as nothing is confirmed yet.

Tomorrow I've got to get on the phone to the press (to chase them up), make finishing touches to the posters and flyers, plan the room layout and just bug bug bug until I get closer to bringing it all together.

Very exciting!  Right I'd better shoot off as I'm meeting Dani in le pub and some kids are doing my head in outside playing silly buggers with the intercom (I'm at work late)

Future Sounds a Little Bleak!

This weekend, like all, has gone by too fast!  Fraser has been off and we've just enjoyed doing nothing together.  Most of this morning was spent in bed watching TV, the way all Sundays should start.  The most energy we've exerted was getting ourselves to the cinema to watch Stardust, which by the way is a perfect family, Sunday PM movie.

I'm now thinking about my future as I cook dinner and type this.  If I won the lotto what would I do, well I know exactly what I'd do so why aren't I doing it regardless of the lotto?  Well it's because I can't afford to!  To give up work, change path, move, etc all takes sacrifice and as I'm about to buy a house now is not the time to think about pay-cuts!

Life just doesn't work like that, which is why most of us do the lottery in the first place, to provide security and financial stability so we live out the rest of our years doing what we truly, in our hearts, want to do.

You could argue that life is too short to just sit by and never realise a dream, by I'd say about 85% of the population do exactly that.  I have to choose which statistic I want to be!

Stamped, Stuffed and Sent

I never want to see another envelope or stamp ever!  Last night I was up until 3am addressing envelopes and then spent 2 hours this morning stuffing letters and sticking stamps.  Fortunately Fraser helped me otherwise I'd have been there for ages!

This event better be a good fundraiser because the 200 stamps I bought yesterday for my prize letters cost me £64!  I knew it'd be a lot but I was working it out that 1 x 1st class stamp = 28p so that's £28 per 100.  Clearly I'm living in the 90's still as stamps are 34p each!  I was shocked!

Of course I've bought stamps recently but I usually buy a book of 6 to keep in my purse and don't give much thought to the cost as it's only a couple of quid!

Anyway, I've still got to chase the celeb agents, chase the DJ who has ignored my email and chase the press!  I think I may have bitten off a little more than I can chew :-/  Hopefully not!

Don't forget you can make a donation by clicking on the donate button in my Children In Need page.  It's all through Paypal so fast and secure.  Any donations received will be spent either on prizes for the event or go direct to the Charity.

Shower, shave and shoving myself out the door to do a wee bit of shopping in Crawley, early dinner then home for X factor.  And I think my life isn't glamorous!
