Audrey Hepburn
Born May 4th 1929 Audrey Hepburn lived in Nazi ruled Arnhem, Netherlands during World War II. she trained to be a ballerina but deciding to become an actress. Fluent in French, Italian, English, Dutch, and Spanish. Her first academy award was for the role of Princess Ann in Roman Holiday. She then went on to star in further blockbusters such as 'Paris When It Sizzles', 'Funny Face', 'Breakfast At Tiffanys', 'Charade' 'My Fair Lady', and 'Two For The Road'. Livelong friends with the designer Givenchy. Married twice with 2 sons Sean Ferrer and Luca Dotti. Soon after her final film role she was appointed 'Special Ambassador' for UNICEF and being grateful for her own good fortune after enduring the German occupation as a child she dedicated the rest of her life to children in poverty. She died aged 63 of colon Cancer January 20th 1993
Juliette Lewis
Born June 21st 1973 in Los Angeles, California, USA. Began acting at the age of 12 and received an Academy Award nomination for her role in Cape Fear. She dated Brad Pitt for several years in the early 90's, followed by Leonardo DiCaprio, Adam Sandler and Kurt Cobain & Courtney Love's nanny Michael Dewitt before marrying skateboarder Steve Berra in 1999. they divorced in 2005 although still remain great friends. Juliette starred in an ad for GAP dancing to 'Daft Punk - Digital Love'. She now fronts the rock band 'Juliette and The Licks' with 3 albums under their belt and hits including 'Got Love To Kill' and 'You're Speaking My Language'. Juliette is a member of the Church of Scientology.
Freddie Mercury
Born Farrokh Bulsara in September 5th 1946 in Stone Town, Zanzibar. His parents were Parsis from India & practiced the ancient Zoroastrian religion. He had a younger sister called Kashmira. It was during boarding school he learnt Piano. His family later moved to London. He fronted the band Queen and wrote songs for them including Killer Queen, Bohemian Rhapsody, Somebody to Love, We Are the Champions and Crazy Little Thing Called Love. Mercury studied art and earned a Diploma in Art & Graphic Design at Ealing Art College, later using these skills to design the Queen crest. Freddie was homosexual and in 1985 he began a long-term relationship with Jim Hutton who cared for him during the last six years of his life. On November 23rd 1991 Freddie issued a statement confirming he had Aids and encouraged fans worldwide to join the fight against Aids. He died aged 45 of bronchial pneumonia resulting from AIDS on November 24th 1991.
Drew Barrymore
Born February 22nd 1975 in Culver City, California, USA. Is the daughter of the late John Drew Barrymore and has a family history of acting dating back almost 200 years. She has a half brother and two half sisters, all of which are actors. Her career bagan at the age of 11 months but the role which secured her fame was that of Gertie in E.T., released in 1982. Throughout her teens Drew was a notorious party girl and went through her "little girl lost phase". Although she overcame her susbtance abuse she still used sex to sell herself, even exposing her breast on the David Letterman show. In the mid 90's however the world saw a new Drew. She had turned her life around and made a successful comeback. Now an esatblished producer and co-owner of the production company Flower Films Drew is very much in demand as an actress and also as an Ambassador Against Hunger for the United Nations.
Bob Geldof
Born on October 5th 1951, DĂșn Laoghaire, County Dublin, Ireland. After attending college Geldof jobs included; slaughter man, road navvy and pea canner before embarking on a music journalism career in Canada. It was in 1975 that he returned to Ireland and fronted the band Boom Town Rats. He got together with Paula Yates in 1976 and had a daughter in 1983. They married in Las Vegas, 1986. Two more daughters followed in 1989 and 1990. Paula left Geldof in 1994 for INXS frontman Michael Hutchence. Following Huthence's death in 1997 Bob took custody of the children, later becoming legal guardian to Hutchence's and Yates' child following her death in 2000. He has been a strong influence for fundraising having organised many events to raise money and awareness for causes like: Amnesty International, famine relief, and AIDS in Africa. Organiser of the famous Band Aid and Live Aid concerts as well as Live 8 and the 'Do They Know It's Christmas' single. Geldof continues his political and fundraising campaigns today.
Gok Wan
Born 1974 in Leicester, England. Gok has made a name for himself and rose to fame thanks to his TV show "How To Look Good Naked". Of Anglo-Chinese heritage Gok battled with obesity during his teens, tipping the scales at 21 stone. He slimmed down towards the end of his teens. He is now a fashion consultant, tv presenter and author. During his 10 year career he has worked with some of the biggest names in the business, including: Bryan Ferry, Erasure, Vanessa Mae, Wet Wet Wet, and Johnny Vaughan. In 2007 Gok made Private Eye's famous 'lookalike' section where they have stated he bears a resemblance to Kate Silverton, the BBC morning TV presenter. Gok is openly gay and lives in London. He has made women and men all over the country feel good about their bodies, lumps, bumps and all!
Alan Carr
Born on June 14th 1976, and the son of former Northampton Town player and manager Graham Carr. His trademark is his camp demeanour and strange whiney voice. A very funny stand up comic and co-host of The Friday Night project with Justin Lee Collins. His television debut was on the Today With Des and Mel show, he's since gone on to be a guest of shows like 8 of 10 cats and even appeared several times in dictionary corner on Countdown. In 2006 he and Lionel Blair stopped a man from committing suicide off of Blackpool Pier. They were filming a TV show when they saw him hanging. After talking with him he was pulled to safety. He won the New Comedian Of The Year Award at the 2001 BBC New Comedy Awards.
